Congratulations to Crompton and Royton’s Emily Halstead who has been chosen to play for Lancashire Girls Golf Association in their upcoming singles match play fixture against Cheshire at Childwall GC on the 22nd May.
Emily joined as a junior member at Crompton and Royton GC in 2017 as a 12-year-old with a handicap of 28. She has progressed through the rankings to become the leading junior girl and one of the clubs most successful junior players now playing off 6.2.
Emily said of her selection, “I am really excited and grateful to be selected for the Lancashire Girls team again. I can’t wait to get there, be part of it and meet and play against the other girls, it will bean amazing experience”.
The Junior golfing section at Crompton and Royton is run by our golf Professional Ryan Grumbridge, Simon Halstead and Mark Pickering. There is a thriving junior section with regular competitions and coaching sessions run by the team.
